Donald E. "Rubber Duck" Harden Sr.

Donald Eugene Harden Sr., 78 years of age and resident of Pontiac, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025.

Don was born on March 17, 1947, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late George Oakley and Florence Louise (nee Meanie) Harden. On June 29,1966, he was united in marriage to Billie (nee Anderson) Harden in Lake in the Hills, Illinois. The two enjoyed many wonderful years together until Billie’s passing in 2003.

A truck driver by trade, Don was a Teamster for Waspi Trucking, where he eventually retired from. Don was a mentor to younger and beginning truck drivers, aiding many in their career throughout his life. He was well known in the industry and could tell you where anything was located. Additionally, he loved riding his motorcycle, mowing the lawn, spending time in Florida with his twin sister, and enjoying television. Don will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Don is survived by his children, Donald Eugene Harden Jr., Jodi Lee Greinke; grandchildren Dakota, Mackenzie, Dalton, Donnie; great-grandson Donnie (Gene); and two more great-grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie Harden; brothers Dennis, Lyle, and Russell Harden; twin sister Geanie; and sisters Ellen, Carol, and Charmaine.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Davenport Family Funeral Home from 10 – 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, Illinois.
