Donald Louis Holland

Donald Louis Holland, 95, of Hawthorn Woods, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025.

Don was born in what was called Mundelein at the time, but is now Hawthorn Woods, on August 3, 1930, to parents Gus and Rose (nee Smith) Holland.

Don was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered as a man with a huge heart. He had a love for entertaining his family and friends, and providing all the food and drinks needed by everyone.

Don was a hard worker, and he owned and ran Holland Fuel Company for over 50 years in Lake Zurich.

Don is survived by his children, Tim (Brenda) Holland, Shelley (Lindy) Alo, and Lisa Iverson, his nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Holland, and his son, Tod Holland.

Don was a great man who will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 27, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to time of Memorial Service 11 a.m. all at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 N Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donald’s name can be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
