Donna Smiddy

Barrington, Illinois,A funeral service for Donna R. Smiddy (nee Johnson), 70 will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington. The Reverend Harry Jarrett will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at the funeral home. Born January 3, 1940 in Elgin, she passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at her home. Donna met her husband, Kermit, in 1955 while he was serving in the Army and stationed at the Guided Missile Site in Barrington. Donna served as the Treasurer of South Barrington for nearly a decade where she was honored as an exceptional employee. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Survivors include her husband, Kermit; daughters, Deborah (Paul) Cornwell of Allen, TX and Christine Johnson of Cary; grandchildren, Abby and Sarah Johnson of Cary and Meridith and Zack Cornwell of Allen, TX; and great-granddaughter, Leah Rieke, of Cary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Stella (nee Oleksa) Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Avenue, Barrington, IL 60010.
