Dorcas "Dee" Lillian Krolopp

Dorcas “Dee” Lillian Krolopp, 75, formerly of Lake Barrington, IL, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Santa Fe, NM after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease Dementia. She was born on May 15, 1948 in Miami, FL to Bernal and Dorcas (nee Ogden) Schooley.

Dee was married to Rudolph “Rudy” Krolopp for 31 years before his passing in 2023. Together they shared a home in Lake Zurich, IL and enjoyed a blended family of seven children. After Rudy’s passing, she moved in with her daughter in Taos, NM.

Prior to retirement, she was a professional secretary, keeping the Executive Branch of Safety Kleen in top order for many years. Dee also worked for several attorneys and judges over the course of her career. She moonlighted as a court transcriber as often as she could. Her mother, “Bitsy”, would proofread her typed documents, often chuckling at the drama that unfolded on the pages before her. Dee’s meticulous accounting of household receipts, owner’s manuals, calendars, and records proved useful when her memory began to fade. She loved channeling her creativity into sewing beautiful dresses, knitting wraps and baby layette sets, gardening in her yard, baking, cooking, and using all kinds of gadgets to make it interesting. She enjoyed gathering the family in her home for holiday meals and celebrations. She was known by all for her consistent head of red hair that she loved.

Dee is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Thomas) Krolopp Kirn, Mark, Joseph (Carla), Sharon (Donald ) Meyer, Lizabeth (Marc) Cassidy, John (Johanna) and Jennifer (Anthony) Martinez; twenty-two grandchildren; 5 (and growing) great-grandchildren; brother, Victor (Debbie) Schooley; Brother-in-law, Otto; and 2 nieces and a nephew.

Along with her loving Husband, Dee is proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Bernal Schooley II.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 beginning at 9am until the time of prayers at 10:30 am at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL, 60047. There will be a procession to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047 for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Lake Zurich, 135 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
