Dorothy C. (Zuhak) Straub

Dorothy C. Straub, 76 of Cary, formerly of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully January 11, 2024 with her loving children by her side.

She was born October 17, 1947 in Chicago to Joseph and Katherine Zuhak.  Dorothy was a 1965 graduate of Waller High School in Lincoln Park.  She married her high school sweetheart, Ted in 1969.

Dorothy worked for Hewlett Packard for 20 years and continued working part time after retirement at AMHC in Barrington for 20 years.  She loved spending time with her family; working in the yard; and attending her grandchildren’s sports activities.

Dorothy is survived by her children Lori Straub (Eric Dowd) and Joseph (Tami) Straub; grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, and Drew Magel; and her cousin, H.J. (Sharon) Prevot.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Ted (2020); sister, Patricia Rivera; and her parents.

Services for Dorothy will be held privately.
