Dr. John Allan Hasdal

Dr. John Allan Hasdal, of Lake in the Hills, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the age of 84.

He was born March 17, 1942 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late Carl and Muriel (Kirkham) Hasdal.

John was united in marriage in 1988 to Bonnie in Kawaii, Hawaii. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Jill (Mike) Fornelli and Scott Alexejun; his grandchildren, Michael Jr., Thomas and Marie Fornelli; his siblings Ginny DiBianco and Carl Hasdal; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Ellen Kerrigan.

John took great pride in his distinguished career as a physicist in the aerospace and defense industries. In retirement, he remained engaged through his interest in the stock market, embraced opportunities to travel to faraway places, and found his greatest joy in supporting his grandchildren, attending their sporting events and cherishing time spent together.

Services for John are being held privately for his family.
