Prior to becoming a Deacon, he was active in various parish ministries including the coordination of a monthly Mass for residents at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, managing the Parish Outreach Ministry, and, along with his wife Theresa, brought the Holy Eucharist to sick and homebound parishioners.

On October 10, 2001, he was ordained, as a member of a class of 16 men, to the Order of G. Doran.
