Edward John Zielinski, 72, of South Barrington, died peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Arlington Heights.
Edward was born in Chicago on December 2, 1953, to parents Edward and Helen (nee Jurczak) Zielinski. He met Lee Kledzik through friends and the couple were married on March 9, 1985, at St. Eugene Church in Norridge. Together Edward and Lee raised their two sons, Matthew and Michael. Edward loved coaching his boys throughout the years in many different sports. He was a disgruntled Chicago sports fan, cheering for the Bears, the White Sox, the Bulls, and the Blackhawks through the highs and the lows of each season. He loved to travel with Lee, and the two of them shared many memories with good friends.
He worked as a regional controller for Ticketmaster for 25 years, before moving to Abraxius Biosciences to work as a CPA. He was a very intelligent man who worked hard to provide for his family. He was loyal and kind, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Lee Zielinski, his sons, Matthew (Lily) Zielinski and Michael (Anna Parker) Zielinski, his grandchildren, Charlotte and Miles, his siblings, Dr. Carole Edwards and Robert Zielinski, and many beloved pets, Lupe, Lucille, Albus, Gob, Aly, and Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Mary Zielinski.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 12 pm to 3 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edward's name can be made to the Special Olympics and the Epilepsy Foundation.
