Eileen Marchi Brandel, 92, of Barrington, passed away on the morning of November 19, 2025. She was born in Chicago on December 16, 1932 to Elmer and Sophia (Zuber) Marchi and grew up in Cicero.
Eileen married the love of her life, Richard Brandel, on September 20, 1958. They shared many years of adventure, good food, music, and quality time with family until his passing on November 14, 2011. They especially enjoyed skiing and travelling together.
Eileen was thoughtful, spry and had an eye for the details. She had a gentle way about her and made everyone around her feel cared for. She was a wonderful cook and believed in the importance of eating together as a family. Her grandchildren will always remember her as the best grandma. Faith grounded her life and she volunteered for many years at Willow Creek Community Church where she had been a member since 1979. She loved her Bible study group and always looked forward to time spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, Stuart (Deborah) Brandel, Kenneth Brandel and Laura (Paul Sirvatka) Kamptner. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan and Evan Brandel, and Isabella and Ben Kamptner, along with her sister, Marilyn Crossman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her brothers, Elmer Marchi and Mitchell Marchi; and her son-in-law, Randall Kamptner.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 Algonquin Road, South Barrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eileen's name can be made to Camp Paradise at Willow Creek Community Church or Willow Creek Community Church https://www.willowcreek.org/give.
