Elizabeth Aarestad

Elizabeth Anne “Beth” Aarestad, 44, of Cary, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. She was born on August 3, 1982, in Colorado.

Beth earned her bachelor’s degree in science from Northeastern Illinois University and went on to receive her master’s degree in geology from Northern Illinois University. For more than 15 years, she taught a variety of earth science courses as an adjunct professor at several colleges and universities. She was passionate about teaching and dedicated to her students.

Outside of the classroom, Beth was a talented knitter, an avid Dungeons & Dragons player, an accomplished baker, and a devoted reader. She was an active member of Living Grace Community Church and treasured the time she spent with her family. Beth will be remembered for her patience, loving nature, and remarkable intelligence.

Beth is survived by her mother, Marilyn; stepfather, Wayne; siblings, Sarah, Larissa, Aaron, Katey, Lacey, and Alexis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Road, Cary, Illinois.
