Betty was welcomed home for Christmas by Jesus on December 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith and love.
Born on March 12,1941 in Chicago, Betty leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Joe; children, Camie (Mark), Joe (Karri), and Dan (Jennifer); grandchildren, Sarah (JJ), Jason (Sam), Aaron (Andi), Elizabeth (Michael), Karoline (Bo), Katherine, Alex, Emily and Lauren. She was a great-grandmother to ten, going on more, great-grandchildren: Cienna, Charlotte, Rocco, Sistine, Fira, Mac, Frankie, Louella, Violet and Joey. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Betty Mueller, and siblings, Geraldine, Nick and JoAnn. She is also survived by loving siblings, Jim, Susan, Ron and Linda.
Betty was the perfect blend of faith and fun. Her deep faith in Christ was not something she ever needed to speak loudly about, because she genuinely and sincerely lived out her faith every day – so much so, that it drew others closer to their own faith without her ever needing to say a word. She had a rare gift for seeing people as God sees them, not by their appearance or accomplishments, but by the goodness of their hearts.
Alongside her unwavering faith was an unmistakable zest for life. Betty embraced joy with her whole heart. She never turned down a roller coaster ride with her grandchildren, was often the first of those on the dance floor at family celebrations, and always savored life’s moments with the people she loved most – cheering on her husband at softball games, playing games around a campfire, taking a chance on the slots at a casino, traveling on a road trip with her family, or enjoying good food and drinks around the dinner table. Whether sharing a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or a Miller Lite, her laughter and joy was contagious and filled every room and heart.
Betty lived with a beautiful simplicity, never concerned with the cars she drove or the brands she wore. Her simple, joyful spirit shone through with the flower arrangements she enjoyed making and her delicious, home-cooked meals she loved sharing. Her 63-year marriage to her husband, Joe, was a living testament to love, loyalty and a deep friendship that cherished every season of life, with her best friend always by her side. Her life sparkled with a brilliant light – one that will forever illuminate the hearts of her family and friends. And just as the old familiar sound and smell of Betty brewing her morning coffee would fill the house, the memory of Betty – her faith, love, joy, and warmth – will remain with us always.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on January 10, 2026 with visitation beginning at 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales, 33 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
Burial to follow mass at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Though we say goodbye for now, we do so with comfort and peace, knowing our beautiful Betty is resting in our Lord and Savior’s arms and that her life reflected the words of scripture: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23).
