Emmeth W. Broker, Jr.

Emmeth W. Broker, Jr., of Marengo, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 surrounded by loving family in his home.

He was born March 2, 1930 in Elgin and raised by his grandparents William and Martha Eineke in Dundee.

Emmeth was a lifelong farmer in Crystal Lake. He sold seed corn for Hughes Seed Corn and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake.

Emmeth is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Dolores; children, Mike (Gale) Broker and Debbie (Mike) McDowd; grandchildren, David, Scott and Jess; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rick Broker and Pat Oerkfitz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Eineke Mick and Emmeth W. Broker, Sr; and his siblings, Donald Broker and Aylene Parrish.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 from 3-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Burial will be held privately for the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
