Erwin P. Rakstad, 84, of Island Lake passed away on May 26, 2021 at James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago. He was born in Stanley, North Dakota on April 17, 1937 to Norin and Violet (Enger) Rakstad.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean (Coddington) Rakstad; his children, Valerie (Larry) Robbins, Brenda King and Ernest (Janice) Rakstad; his grandchildren, Amanda King, Lawrence (Yuko) Robbins, Danielle Rakstad and Erick (Whitney) Robbins; and three great grandchildren. Erwin is further survived by his siblings, Eunice Milne and Roger Rakstad; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 a service will be held privately.
