Evelyn Nilsen Bolinder

Evelyn Nilsen Bolinder, 91, passed away October 6, 2023. She was born October 26, 1931 in Chicago to Einar and Gunvor (Torkelsen) Nilsen. She graduated from Jones Commercial High School and was a secretary until her retirement in the mid 1980’s. She married Lennart Bolinder in 1953 and they lived on the Northwest side of Chicago until 1988 when they retired to North Port, Florida. A few years after her husband’s death she moved back to Illinois to be closer to her children and settled in Del Webb in Huntley. She loved playing cards and volunteering. She led a very active life in Florida and Illinois and made many good friends in both communities.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Schlehuber, Janice Selden and Sandra Buechel, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, brother, two sons-in-law, and a great-grandson.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on December 9, 2023, at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or First Congregational Church.
