Evelyn W. Dawson

Evelyn W. Dawson was born May 25, 1926, in St. Louis, MO, to Charles and Caroline White. She passed away peacefully November 22, 2023.

Evelyn was a long-time resident of Barrington, a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the St. Anne Women’s Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where she was a member and past president of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Evelyn enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, and knitting with the Cultured Pearls Knitting Guild.  She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Christie (Jack) Meehan, Jimmy Dawson, Carolyn (Drew) Goddard, and Nancy (Jim) Owens; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, James, and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the prayer service at 11 am, Saturday, December 2, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Road) Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
