Fabiola Peña

Fabiola Peña, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024.  Fabiola lived a life of service and dedication to her family and her community.  She inspired her children with her example of hard work, perseverance, and the belief in the American Dream.  

Fabiola’s many years in Barrington were happy and active as she lived a life of service to others, particularly as a volunteer at Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), where she organized and enjoyed luncheons, bingo games, and day trips.    She loved the staff at BACOA and she loved the people they served, it truly was her passion.  Her contributions at BACOA enhanced the lives of others but also gave her a new mission.  

Fabiola is survived by her children, John (Lisa) Valencia of Geneva, IL, Michael (Lucy) Valencia of Barrington, IL, and Vicki Valencia of Volo, IL and her grandchildren, Nicholas Valencia of Barrington, IL and Amanda Valencia of Barrington, IL. Fabiola also has many siblings all over the world and she spoke and laughed with them regularly.  

The family is honoring her wishes and will not hold a memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation of your time or resources to the Barrington Area Council on Aging; or to the Addus Hope Foundation (JourneyCare), 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025.
