Frank R. Antonizio, 75, passed away at home after a brief illness on August 7, 2022. He was born in Providence, RI to Andrea and June (Maurice) Antonizio. He loved the ocean and was an avid snorkeler, surfer, and spearfisher. He served in the Coast Guard Reserves at the Point Judith station in Narragansett, RI as a scuba diver fixing underwater buoys. After a medical discharge, he traveled the country and met his wife in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They relocated to her hometown in Chicago where he established his auto salvage business, FRA Auto. He continued to work up until his illness and had fond memories of the people he met over the years.
Frank loved to cook, often making family specialties of macaroni and gravy (Italian sauce), meatballs, southern fried chicken, and baked macaroni and cheese. He had a great appreciation for hot peppers, growing more than his wife would like due to his natural green thumb. If you had a home repair or auto job, Frank was your man. He was affectionately known as Mr. Fix-It.
Frank is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lana, his daughter, Corryn Antonizio, his grandson, Alex Antonizio, and his sister, Rhonda (Tommy) Argenti. Per Frank's wishes, no memorial service will be held. However, feel free to honor his memory by lighting up your favorite stogie.
