Gale Darlene Lind, 89, of Lake Barrington, died peacefully on February 16, 2026.
Gale was born in Lansing, Illinois on February 6, 1937, to parents Eli and Hester (nee Selby) Norrgran. Gale married Peter Lind on September 28, 1956, and together they raised their three children in Barrington and Roselle. Gale loved her family and enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for them. She served as a Scout leader for many years and treasured family vacations to northern Minnesota and ski trips to Michigan and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Gale loved being outdoors, especially going horseback riding and on pontoon boat rides on Lake Omaha. She loved the lake house in Arkansas and enjoyed relaxing playing cards and pinochle.
Gale was actively involved in Barrington, working for District 220 for two decades as well as being a member of Barrington Bit & Bridle. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and assisted with Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Gale is survived by her children, Cheryl (Birger Christensen) Hartwell-Christensen, Scott (the late Cindy) Lind, and Amy (Tom) Butler, her grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Hartwell, Daniel Hartwell, Anton (Sarah) Christensen. Natalie Lind, Eric Lind, Bridget Butler, and Peter Butler, her great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Grace, and Joanna, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Peter Lind, and her siblings, Wesley (Ceil) Norrgran, Marvel (Bob) Manthey, and Phyllis Norrgran.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to time of Funeral 12 noon all at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
