Gale Marie DiFlavio Ross

Gale Marie DiFlavio Ross, 68, of North Barrington, passed away peacefully in her home on August 6, 2026.

Gale was born in Chicago on August 20, 1957, to parents Gene and Lorraine (nee Bruni) DiFlavio, and sisters, Diane, Lynn, and Deb.

She graduated from the University of Utah in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and went on to work for WEFM (99.5 FM) as a Promotions Manager. She was also very active in productions at the American Conservatory Theater (ACT) in San Francisco, often lighting up the stage in lead roles.

Gale married Jeff Ross on September 25, 1982, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and service, sharing more than 43 years of marriage.

Gale was the heart of her family—a devoted wife to Jeff and the warm, steady presence at the center of their three sons’ lives. She gave herself fully to her family, filling their home with love, warmth, and compassion.

Gale was a joy and a light to those around her. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Jeff Ross; her sons, John (Izabel) Ross, James Ross, and Michael (fiancée Annemarie Cress) Ross; her grandchildren, Sofia and Nico; and her sisters, Diane Korczynski and Deb (Mike) Fragale.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lynn Zarka.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation the hour prior, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, IL 60010.

Burial to follow Mass at Evergreen Cemetery.
