George Michael Vodin

George Michael Vodin, 79, of Palatine, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Michael and Mildred Vodin.

George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Cpl. While in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War; he received the medals for Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, National Defense Service and Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.

His artistic inclinations later led him to picture framing, which became his career; in 1995, he founded Fancy Art in Barrington and in 2002 he expanded his business to Lake Zurich.

George is survived by his children, Michael Peter Vodin of Mt. Prospect, IL and Lisa Therese Vodin of Carol Stream, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Lorraine McGinnis.

A private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
