Gerald K. Mason 82 of Barrington Il., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, May 23, 2025 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington Il.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years Diane Mason, proud children Deanna Reinke (husband Rick) Brad Mason, and preceded in death by Scott Mason . He has four cherished grand children, Dannielle Wiltshire (husband Sean) Luke Reinke (wife Marissa)and Rose and Everett Mason. Jerry's brother Thomas Mason (wife Laura ) niece Stacy Foltz (husband John) and nephew Brent Mason (wife Kim).
The beloved son of Kevil and Elizabeth Mason, Jerry was born in Chicago in 1942. He lived in Evergreen Park, he later moved to Des Plaines with his only sibling Thomas. He graduated Maine Township High School in 1960. He attended University of Denver and graduated in 1964. Upon graduation he married his loving wife Diane Mason, He began working with Marquette Paper Company and continued there for 26 years. In 1974 the family moved to Barrington Il. They resided there for the next 50 years .He continued to have a successful life long career in the paper Industry. Jerry worked at Bradner Smith from 1989-2001, and finally Murnane Paper Company from 2001-2024 until retirement.
Jerry was an avid golfer , a "expert" fisherman, loved skiing and had a huge passion of American War History and a lifelong love of trains. He especially cherished being head coach for both of his son's soccer teams. He was an unwavering Chicago sports team especially for the Bears.
Jerry will be forever missed as a man who loved the Lord, had integrity and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, and friend.
A memorial for Jerry is scheduled for Wednesday June 4, 2025 at 10:00am at Orchard Church, 301 S. Grove Ave Barrington Il, 60010. Reception to follow in the same location.
Internment is private.
