Geraldine L. Zoul, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Geraldine was born in Peoria, IL on January 18, 1933 to Fred and Olena Koch. She graduated from Manual High School in 1950. She was Senior Class President and also involved in the band, playing the clarinet.
After graduation, she worked for Kraft Foods until 1956. She married Robert Zoul on June 30, 1956 in Berwyn, IL. She and her husband traveled for the first year of marriage when Bob did auditing for Kraft. She had many jobs in each city, working for ManPower and Kelly Girls.
Jerri and Bob moved Elmwood Park where they had two sons, Zachary and Jeffry. Later, they moved to Glen Ellyn and adopted their daughter Kimberly. After 10 years, they moved to Barrington Hills where Jerri worked for EBSCO Subscription Services, ending her career as Operations Manager 23 years later.
Retiring to St. Simons Island and then Hot Springs, Arkansas, they moved back to Illinois because of her husband’s illness.
Jerri enjoyed playing cards, visiting old friends, neighbors, and her favorite city, Peoria, IL.
Jerri is survived by her sons, Zachary (Cindy) and Jeffry Zoul; daughter, Kimberly (David) Eden; and grandchildren, Zachary Zoul II, Gregory Robert Zoul, and Jordyn Zoul.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Zoul; parents, Fred and Olena Koch; and her sister, Norma Mason.
A visitation for Jerrie will be held from 11am until the time of service at 1pm on Saturday January 21, 2023 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Entombment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 330 Griswold Street, Elgin, IL 60123.
