In Loving Memory of Grace Turjanski
Bold. Beautiful. Unforgettable.
March 26, 1956 – July 20, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her remarkable life, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Grace Turjanski, on July 20, 2025. A radiant soul who left an indelible mark on everyone she met, Grace was known for her beauty, strength, and the unforgettable way she lit up every room.
Born in Poland on March 26, 1956, Grace bravely immigrated to the United States in her twenties in search of a better life. Her journey led her to Chicago, where fate introduced her to the love of her life, Walter Turjanski. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children—Justin, Jordan, Jeremy, and Joelle—who were the center of her world and the pride of her heart.
Grace had a passion for beauty and an unmatched sense of style. After completing cosmetology school, she opened her own nail salon at the iconic Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Her elegance, grace, and signature scents made her unforgettable—she was always dressed to impress and carried herself with timeless class.
Later, Grace transitioned into healthcare, working as a critical care technician at Good Shepherd Hospital. Her natural compassion and calm demeanor brought comfort to countless patients and families. Whether in a salon chair or a hospital room, Grace had a gift for making people feel seen, cared for, and loved.
Above all, Grace was a devoted wife, a fiercely loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Her legacy lives on through her husband Walter, her four children—Justin (Jen), Jordan (Kelly), Jeremy (Brooke) and Joelle—and her beloved grandchildren—William, Jeremy Jr., and Jack—who each carry a piece of her spark, warmth, and vibrant spirit.
She is also remembered fondly by extended family and dear friends who will forever feel her absence and cherish her memory.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 2nd at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois, 60142. Following the mass, a visitation will take place from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake, IL, 60014.
We invite all who knew her to join us in honoring a woman who made this world more beautiful simply by being in it. She didn’t just walk through life—she made it a masterpiece. Bold, beautiful, and unforgettable—her light will never dim.
