Harry Burroughs, 69 and Kathryn Burroughs, 35, of Barrington.
Harry graduated from The College of Architecture at IIT in 1970, and was working as a sole practitioner architect at the time of his death. He was a member of the Plan Commission in Barrington, IL., and was a member of the Board of Directors of Shady Oaks Camp in Homer Glen, Il. In addition to his successful career as an architect beloved by his clients and colleagues, Harry's life was dedicated to caring for his family and especially his daughter Katie, despite his many health challenges. He contracted polio at age 4, resulting in partial spinal paralysis, and in 2001 was diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoidosis. He suffered a stroke in 2008, and was most recently struggling with end stage sarcoidosis. Through all of his trials, he worked to show his family, his grandchildren, and his colleagues that he would put his own suffering aside in order to be there for them.
Katie was universally loved and adored by all that met her. While she was severely mentally and physically disabled since birth, she was able to show everyone her spirit and her happiness every day of her life.
Services for Harry and Katie will be held privately.
