Helen Kuzmyn

Helen Kuzmyn, 78, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023. She was born on July 1, 1944 in Warsaw, Poland to John and Pearl Barchuk. Her family moved to the United States in 1949. She spent most of her childhood in the Chicagoland area and has resided in Crystal Lake since 1976.

Family was very important to Helen and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to golf with her husband whenever they could. She also spent many vacations visiting her extended family.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Wladyslau “Wally” Kuzmyn; daughters, Christine (Ted) Bromir, Carolyn (Mike) Taylan, Cindy (Jeff) Freeman; grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) Bromir, Jake (Erin) Freeman, Lily Freeman, Kyle, Brian, Amanda, Ryan, Tyler Ziolko, Quinlan Taylan; great grandchild, Niko; siblings, Lucy Waden, Gloria Perekrest (George), George (Jan) Barchuk, sister-in-law, Shelia Barchuk and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Pearl Barchuk and brother, Gene Barchuk.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Visitation will resume on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 11 AM until the 1 PM funeral service at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park.
