Henry L. Klien

Henry L. Klien, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022.

Henry was born in Chicago, IL on June 18, 1934. Those who knew Henry would describe him as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather; his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was also known as an honest and loyal friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Henry loved snowmobiling at his vacation home in Wisconsin, where he and his late wife eventually built their dream home. He was as a hard worker who took great pride in his work as a bricklayer and tuck pointer. In retirement, Henry would put just as much effort and care into the maintenance of his home, yard and garden. He also greatly enjoyed watching hockey and football, particularly the Green Bay Packers.

Henry is survived by his two loving daughters, Tracey (Barry) Schuster and Charmaine (John) Kerrigan; his grandchildren, Jillian (Joel) Fuller, Bradley (Jaqueline) Schuster, Matthew (fiancée Brianna Ray) Kerrigan, Michael (Kelsy) Kerrigan and Marcus Kerrigan; and his great-grandchildren Ryan Fuller, Ashton Kerrigan, and Emma Kerrigan.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ruth (Basham) Klien; and parents, Henry and Florence (Cholewinski) Klien.

A memorial visitation for Henry will be held from 1pm until the time of service at 3pm on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
