Henry J. Laka, Jr. age 67 of Cary, IL, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, died on his birthday, January 16, 2017. Henry was born on January 16, 1950, in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Henry J. Laka, Sr. and the late Cecilia (Polniak) Laka.
Henry was a graduate of Bishop Duffy High School and Bryant and Stratton College. He was an incredibly hardworking, dedicated man who had a passion for the restaurant and food industry for the last forty years. He was an avid sports fan who loved the sand and surf and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Paula (Jones) Laka and his children, Justin and Alison Laka, all of Cary; his siblings, Gary (Sharon) Laka of Ellington, Florida, Theresa Laka of Niagara Falls, and Cathy Laka of Lockport; his aunt, Helen Kwapis of Niagara Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Henry was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Raich.
Friends are welcome to visit with Henry’s family for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, January 24 from 4-8 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176) Crystal Lake.
