Irene Lake

Irene Lake, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026 at the age of 94.

She was born December 8, 1931 in Urmston, England, the daughter of the late John Alfred and Florence (Williams) Vanstone.

Irene enjoyed spending time with her British club, Trans-Atlantic Brides.

Irene is survived by her children, Deborah (Jim) Zuhlke, Bryan (Lisa) Lake, and Lee (Sally) Lake; her grandchildren, James and Alex Zuhlke, and Emma and Simon Lake; her great-grandchildren, Alex, JR, and Hallie; her sister, Beryl Sidwell; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan I. Lake; and her brothers, Edward, John, and Raymond Vanstone.

A memorial service for Irene will be planned for a later date.
