Iries Burns

Iries O. Burns, 87, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2016. She was born on December 12, 1928 in Ferrum, Virginia to Douglas Hamilton and Ollie Elizabeth (nee Gillespie) Peters.

Iries enjoyed her independence and was known to be very helpful by her friends, who she drove to and from church and around town.

Iries is survived by her loving children, Betty (Bryan) Burns Jensen and Sharon A. (Ray) Jensen; grandchildren, Amanda (William) Dunn, Sarah (Jeremy) Sheeley, Shannon A. Bert, Ian G. and Kerstin M. Jensen; great-grandchildren, Mason, Charlie, Eliana, Lila, Benjamin, Peter and Gunnar; her brother, Hugh (Glenda) Peters. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 46 years, Drury L. Burns and by her parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, from 9 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Entombment to follow at Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
