Jaime Lopez Brondo

Jaime Lopez Brondo, 78, of Crystal Lake passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.  He was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on February 21, 1946, to Juan Lopez and Lilia Brondo Lopez.

Jaime married Maria Raquel on February 2, 1969. He was known for his ever-present smile and great sense of humor. He made everyone feel included and welcomed, always ready to lend a helping hand. Kind, caring, and full of life, Jaime also had a good-natured stubbornness. He enjoyed gardening, doing projects around the house, and was very involved with the church. When asked how he was doing, he would often say, “Younger Everyday!” bringing a smile to those who asked. He had a beautiful soul.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maria Raquel; children, Maria G. Lopez, Jaime I. Lopez and Alejandro (Rosalia) Lopez; grandchildren, Kenneth “Kenny” Knapik, Jr., Kristine “Kristy” Knapik, Emily Knapik, Theresa “Tere” Cruz, Leslie Cruz, Natalie Lopez, Leah Lopez, and Ariana Lopez; great granddaughter, Eliana Cruz; and siblings, Juan (Conchis) Lopez, Claudio (Gabby) Lopez, Arturo (Maria) Lopez, Alma (Cayetano) Lopez and Lilia Lopez.

Jaime was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Lilia Lopez, and his sister, Maria Lourdes Lopez.

 A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.   Mass will be on Friday, June 21, at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.  Burial will follow at Church of the Holy Apostles Cemetery, McHenry.
