James T. Alexander

James T. Alexander, 83, longtime resident of Long Grove, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Chicago, IL to George and Anne Alexander.

James enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid cyclist and when he wasn't exploring the world on two wheels, James could often be found tending to his yard. Above all, James's heart belonged to his family. His family was his greatest joy, and he relished every moment spent in their company and creating cherished memories. James also had a special love for Western and action films. He and his son shared their tradition of enjoying lunch and a movie together, a tradition that was a source of immense joy and connection between them.

James was the loving husband of 58 years to Marilyn Alexander, cherished father to Michael (Katrina) Alexander and a doting grandfather to Sutton and Mattea Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 3 PM until the funeral service at 7:30 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
