James "Jim" Paul Swett

James Paul Swett passed away on April 20, 2026, at his home in Crystal Lake. He was born on March 7, 1950 in Woodstock, IL to the late Warren and Sylvia Swett.

Jim was a lifelong Crystal Lake resident and spent a few years living in Cary as well. Jim worked at Seedburo in Chicago, where his father had worked previously for many years, and lastly Countryside Flower Shop and Nursery. He was an avid cribbage player, fisherman, gardener, fantasy football player and pinochle player. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Susan; their children, Warren, Kendra and Colton; his siblings, Martha (Larry) Richards, Richard (Barb) Swett and Antoinette Swett; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edward (Lydia) Swett, John Swett, Thomas Swett and Dennis Swett.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the memorial service at 12 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Jim will be buried at River Valley Memorial Gardens in West Dundee. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Swett Family.
