James Kenneth Kordik

James Kenneth Kordik, 87, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1938, in Chicago to Edward and Marie Kordik.

Jim was a talented woodworker who took great pride in crafting beautiful furniture. A true handyman, he seemed able to fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his quiet nature. Though he often let others do the talking, when Jim spoke, it was usually with a witty comment that brought laughter to those around him.

Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and traveling to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Lake Gogebic area held a special place in his heart, and many cherished memories were made there. He also enjoyed relaxing with an afternoon beer and, most of all, spending time with the family and friends he loved.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara "Terry" Kordik; his grandson, Jimmy Hanley; and a brother and sister.

Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Debbie (Tom) Duke, Donna (Geno) Scali, and Pam Peschiera, widow of the late Lonnie Peschiera. He is also survived by Pat "#3" Grizely, his lifelong friend and Terry's maid of honor and best friend since childhood. Jim will be fondly remembered by his furry grandchildren, Luke, Wrigley, Max, and Angus, as well as by many other family members and friends whose lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and humor.

Jim's family will forever cherish the memories of his steady presence, his willingness to help, and the laughter he brought to every gathering.

Services and interment will be held privately.
