James R. Naylor, 79, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024. He was born on October 30 1944, in Chicago to Thomas and Agnes (nee Hodgins) Naylor.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he exhibited bravery and courage, earning 2 Purple Hearts for his service during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his fellow soldiers and to the nation was unwavering.
After his military service, James pursued a career as a tax accountant, applying the same diligence and precision to his professional life that he displayed in his military career. He graduated from Triton College in 1973, demonstrating his determination to further his education after returning from service.
On May 17, 1969, James married the love of his life, Barbara Cronkrite. They celebrated 47 beautiful years of marriage until Barbara's passing in 2016. Together, they created a home filled with love and cherished memories.
In retirement since 2000, James enjoyed pursuing his passions, particularly fishing. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy in casting his line in the serene waters of Michigan and Wisconsin, often sharing these moments with family and friends.
