Janet Lynn Jewell

Janet Lynn Jewell, 60 of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1963 in Chicago to Raymond S. and Dolores E (nee Sadowski) Petersen.

Janet was a cherished member of the Foglia YMCA community having worked as a manager and greeter there for many years.  She had a passion for shopping and decorating. Janet loved people and found immense joy in making those around her smile. She leaves behind a mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her son, David “Jackson” (Lera) Jewell; sisters, Linda (Scott) McFeely and Kathy Petersen; and brother, Stephen (Lisa) Petersen.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street., Barrington, Illinois 60010.

Interment will be private.
