Janet "Jan" E. Trede

Janet “Jan” E. Trede, 87, of Barrington, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Jan was born November 29, 1935 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Wilbert and Bernice Steltzer.

Jan graduated from Riverside High School in 1953, married her high school sweetheart Ralph in 1955. Together, they celebrated 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.

She earned her Associate Degree in Bookkeeping from Ivy Tech. She worked in bookkeeping, and at Harper College where she retired in 1997 as an executive secretary.

Jan was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, was very active at the Garlands in Barrington and was an avid Bridge player.

Her greatest joy was spending time with family and many wonderful friends.

Jan is survived by her children, Cindy Trede, Chris (Whitney) Trede, and Lori (Mike) Eschenbaum; grandchildren Jordan (Jenny) and Ryan Klobusnik; Isabel, Lucy and Grayson Trede; Scott (Linnea), Matt (Samantha) and Chris (Gina) Eschenbaum and Sarah (Adam) Arvanitakis; great-grandchildren, Raylee, Remi, Mason, Julian and Hudson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4 PM until 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington.

The funeral service will be at 11 AM, Friday, August 25 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road, Palatine. There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the service. Interment will be private.
