Janice Rogers Grant

Janice (née Rogers) Grant, passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 91.

She was the beloved wife of John A. "Jack" Grant, with whom she shared 53 years of a loving marriage. Janice was born in Chicago on January 17, 1935, to Joseph Francis and Janice (née O’Hara) Rogers and was lovingly nicknamed “Tinker” by her father when she was a toddler. The nickname remained with her throughout her life and was affectionately used by family, friends, and classmates from St. Gertrude’s School, Marywood High School, and Mundelein College.

On August 28,1957, Janice married her college sweetheart, Jack Grant. They raised their four children in Park Ridge and later in Barrington, Illinois. After becoming empty nesters, Janice and Jack moved to Lake Barrington Shores, where Janice enjoyed a successful career as a Realtor for many years. Following Jack’s death in 2010, she continued living in her home until 2021, when she moved to The Luther Village Retirement Community in Arlington Heights.

Janice will be remembered for her magnetic charm, generous spirit, and genuine interest in others. She shared a rare gift for making people feel valued and welcomed, brightening their lives with her warmth, optimism, and grace. Even during her health challenges in recent years, her love of life never diminished. Her unwavering gratitude and appreciation for family, friends, and life’s everyday blessings remained evident until her final days, inspiring all those fortunate enough to know her.

Janice is survived by her loving children, Mary (Brian) Angioletti, Joseph (Manya) Grant, and Andrew Grant; cherished grandchildren, Sam (Christie) Angioletti, Jackie (Chris) Kost, Julia (Fil Kobylekli) Grant, Nick Grant, and Tula Grant; treasured great-grandson, Benjamin Kost; devoted sisters, Patricia Roche and Cecile McGuire Dunn; and many caring family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Grant; her son, John (Theresa) Grant; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Rogers and Josephine Rogers.

A private interment is planned. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army or The Greater Chicago Food Depository.
