Jason James Dziedzic

Jason James Dziedzic, 55, of Cary, passed away on April 15, 2026, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Des Plaines on January 27, 1971, to James and Patricia (Weber) Dziedzic. Jason met the love of his life, Dina Landbo, in youth group at Willow Creek Community Church, and the two were married on July 21, 1991. He later earned his associate degree from Harper College.

Jason was a musician through and through. Music was not just something he loved, it was the way he connected with the world. He taught lessons, played for churches and charities, and used his gift to bless others whenever he could. His range was as wide as his passion, from big band to rock and roll, from waltzes to Mozart, whose birthday he proudly shared. He used his musical talent to the utmost and truly believed it was one of the ways he was meant to serve others.

Jason was passionate, witty, compassionate, and deeply loyal. He was known for his famous dad jokes, his romantic heart, his competitive spirit, and his love of the outdoors. A lifelong Boy Scout, he passed that love on to his boys through scouting as well. He enjoyed grilling, appreciated good wine, and was a devoted Chicago sports fan, with the clear exception of the White Sox.

Jason was also a proud nerd in the best sense of the word. He loved Star Trek, Star Wars, sci-fi, and The Lord of the Rings, and built a career in IT that fit his sharp mind perfectly. He loved cars too, especially his dependable Honda Accord, though his dream car was a Mercedes SLS.

Above all, Jason loved his family. They meant everything to him, and he would have done anything in his power for them.

He is survived by his wife, Dina; his children, Tim Dziedzic, Chris Dziedzic (Stephen Santos), and Abigail V. Dziedzic (Devin Gunderson); his grandson, Benjamin Solomon Dziedzic; his parents, James and Patricia Dziedzic; and his aunt, Victoria (Roger) Stein.

He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Hank and Adele Pryor; his cherished grandmother, Jean Dziedzic; and his mother-in-law, Anna-Marie Landbo.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. In true Jason fashion, please wear your best Cubs, Bears, or music attire. Visitation will continue Saturday, May 9, from 9am until the time of service at 10am at the funeral home.
