Jeanne Carol Cluts

Jeanne Carol Cluts, 75, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was born on November 18, 1948, in Chicago to Nicholas and Anne (Peters) Kesseler.

On December 21, 1974, Jeanne married Doug Cluts, and together they built a family she deeply cherished.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Doug; her children, Susan (Dan) Barwegen of Crystal Lake and Joe (Lisa) Cluts of McHenry; and her granddaughters, Avery (14) and Harper (12) Barwegen. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Kesseler. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nancy Adams, and her uncle, Bud Peters.

Jeanne found immense joy in babysitting her granddaughters, whom she cherished above all else. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, watching the Hallmark Channel, and visiting her favorite restaurant, Breakers, in Crystal Lake. She was a fan of Michael Bolton and Ted Danson, and a proud member of the Tom Skilling Fan Club. Jeanne’s kind and gentle spirit was especially evident in her love for dogs. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

“Keep your eyes to the skies” was a phase Jeanne often quoted to her kids. It now has a whole new meaning and will be forever repeated with a smile.
