Joanne M. Zednik

Joanne Marie Zednik, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on June 20, 2026.

Born on June 8, 1959, in Waukegan, Joanne spent her entire life in McHenry County. She attended Ringwood Grade School and graduated from McHenry High School. On August 28, 1981, she married Brad Zednik in Woodstock, and together they shared nearly 45 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and countless memories.

Joanne had a creative heart and found joy in making things for others. She loved reading, crafting, crocheting, knitting, and creating handmade cards and thoughtful gifts that reflected her generous spirit. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and cookouts, spending time with family whenever she could, and treasured the lifelong friendships she maintained through the years. Before her health declined, Joanne and Brad enjoyed taking motorcycle trips together, traveling to places like New York, Washington, and Canada. She also had a special place in her heart for her Labrador Retrievers, and Harley misses her dearly.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Brad; her children, Valerie (Tim) McLain, Jessica Rairie, and Nicholas Zednik; her grandchildren, Jacob Elliott, Damon Trushinski, and Lilly Ann Fischer; her great-grandson, Louie Elliott; and her siblings, Nancy, Mark, and Richard.

Joanne will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, quiet strength, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29, at 11am at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Prairie Grove.
