John Edward Donahue, III was born August 13, 1936 in Chicago. He passed away peacefully March 11, 2021.
John is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, John (Diane) Donahue, Jim (Mary) Donahue, Dan (Maureen) Donahue, and Mary Pat (Bill) Griswold; grandchildren, Bridget, Jack, Maeve, Ronan, Aidan, Tara, Jimmy, Patrick, Katie, Dannie, Maggie, Kevin, Mary Bridget, Charlie, Katie, Michael, and Kerry; brother, Tom (Joan) Benson; and sister, Chris Geraci. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Donahue, Jr and Molly Benson; grandson, Billy Griswold; and former wife, Bonnie Wieringa.
He was a graduate of Leo H.S. ’54, and the University of Notre Dame ’58. John was a true South Side Irishman, avid golfer and huge fan of Fighting Irish football and his beloved White Sox.
