John Joseph Durkin

John Joseph Durkin, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Born June 25, 1939, in Chicago, he married Margaret Ann Sullivan on April 16, 1966 they celebrated 55 beautiful years of marriage until her passing in 2021. He was a graduate of Leo High School and Loyola University in Chicago.

Survivors include his loving children Maureen (Tom) Fraser of Boulder, CO and Kevin (MaryBeth) Durkin of Inverness, IL; adored grandchildren, Mary Kathleen and Elizabeth Fraser, and Michael Joseph Durkin; sister Kathleen Durkin.

In addition to his wife, John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Durkin.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10:30am at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington. Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.
