John T. Hipsky

John T. Hipsky, of Barrington, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the age of 85.

John was a loving husband and caring father. His innovative mind and strong work ethic took him from the army to value engineering, sales, and ultimately his own battery company before he “retired” to run a resort in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Along the way he gave countless hours to numerous community organizations. He developed a group at the local high school that connected kids with local professionals so they could learn more about different career paths before deciding on college. Every summer was devoted to the rifle range at Upper Peninsula Bible Camp where he taught numerous kids with an emphasis on discipline and safety. He was honored to receive letters years later from several campers about the influence he’d had in their lives.

He will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Loxia, their 6 children, 15 grandchildren and many other friends and family.
