John Robert Hummel

John Robert Hummel, 72 years of age and resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025.

John was born on January 24, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Robert Nicholas and Ida Nickolida (Koch) Hummel. On April 11, 1981, he was united in marriage to Delane “Dee” (Herbert) Hummel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The two shared many wonderful years together building their family.

A dedicated husband, father, and friend, John loved his wife, daughters, and grandson. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears play and dabbled in many home projects over the years.

John is survived by his loving wife, Delane “Dee” Hummel; daughters Sabrina (Eric) Gregg of Evergreen, Colorado, and Brittany Hummel of Carpentersville, Illinois; grandson Rowan Gregg; siblings Mary Nunemaker, Paul Hummel, and Susan Ruhl; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
