John C. Karr

John Calvin Karr, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 95.

He was born at home, June 30, 1930, in Tracy, OK, the son of the late Orville Jefferson and Vernie Mae (Walls) Karr.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Army and the owner of Micron Engineering Tool and Die, where he continued working until last year at the age of 94. Independent and devoted to his routine, he took great pride in his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. After slowing down, he especially cherished spending time with his family and found great joy in his grandchildren.

John was the loving father of the late John Conrad Karr, Mary Denise Karr, Alan Jefferson (Karen) Karr, and the late John Clifford Karr; loving grandpa of Jimmy (Kristin) Karr and Emily Karr; beloved great-grandpa of Isabella and Mia Karr; loving brother of the late Wilma; and former husband of Mary Ann Karr.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.
