John Olszak

Crystal Lake, Illinois,John C. Olszak, 83, Crystal Lake, entered eternal life February 6, 2010 at his home after a short bout with cancer. He was born September 25, 1926 in Chicago to John G. and Anna (Wagner) Olszak. On August 6, 1949 he married Angeline A. (Pawlowski) Olszak at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago. John and Angeline celebrated over 60 years of marriage. For 40 years he worked as a reproductions manager for Holabird &Root Architects in Chicago. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church for over 57 years, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and started a Boy Scout?s troop with Father Beddoes. John enjoyed golfing, earned his private flying license and loved to fly; he also enjoyed woodworking and was a proud Navy veteran. John and his wife were snowbirds enjoying their winters in North Fort Meyers, FL. He is survived by his wife; his children, David(Vicki) Olszak, Lindenhurst, IL, Pam Schinkel, Elgin, IL, Denise(Paul) Krantz, Palatine, IL, Cathy Cahill, Richmond, IL, Mary(James) Matthei, Lake in the Hills, IL, Jane(Jim) Grant, Crystal Lake, IL, John(Jackie) Olszak, Bolingbrook, IL, Paul(Linda) Olszak, Crystal Lake, IL, Tom(Autumn) Olszak, Phoenix, AZ, Peggy(John) Stahl Genoa City, WI, Amy(Tony) Remke, Marengo, IL, Anna(John) Olas, Prairie Grove, Il; 33 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in John?s name to Centegra Sage Cancer Center, 4305 Medical Center Dr., McHenry, IL 60050
