John J. Pappas Sr.

John Joseph Pappas Sr., 81, of Barrington Hills, died peacefully in his home on October 24, 2026.

John was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 19, 1945, to parents John Pappas and Virginia (nee Perry) Pappas. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1966 and then went on to graduate from Notre Dame law school in 1970. Upon graduation, John practiced law in Chicago for 55 years. He was affiliated with several law firms in Chicago and eventually started his own practice as the Pappas Law Group.

John is survived by his three children, John (Rebekkah) Pappas Jr., Melissa (Noah Silvers) Pappas Silvers, and Matthew Pappas, and his four grandsons, Bennett and Landry Silvers and Jonah and Rylin Pappas.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 12 noon to time of Memorial Service 2 p.m. all at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name can be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
