John S. Rader

John was born in Belleville Kansas April 2. 1937 to John and Leora (Lang) Rader. The family, along with his younger sister, Marise (Marci), moved many times during his childhood mainly due to his father having worked for Standard Oil. 

They finally settled in Elmhurst, IL where John and Marci both graduated from York High School. He was married to Jennifer (Beck) Rader and resided in Barrington for over 50 years. John had two sons, Jim of Barrington, and Todd of El Dorado Hills, CA. After graduating York High School John attended and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL with a degree in civil engineering. He then started Urban Planning Consultants which was a city planning/architectural firm in 1965 based in Chicago, which later transitioned to The Upcon Group, a property management firm that still operates today. 

John was very active in his boys sports with coaching and serving on booster organizations. John was a licensed pilot and loved to fly his Bonanza plane to business meetings as well as various hunting and fishing locations. He also enjoyed spending time at his home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and later in Door County, WI. 

John met Jennifer in 1973 in Evansdale, IA. They were married in Cedar Falls, IA in 1974 and moved to Barrington in 1975.
