John M. Rotan

John M. Rotan, 83, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2021. He was born on February 23, 1938 in Hinsdale to John R. and Olga Rotan.

John graduated from University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree in Structural Engineering. He went on to work for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in Chicago, and later designed custom homes in the Burr Ridge/Hinsdale area.  John designed a condo development in Park City, Utah.  Later on John owned and operated a tree nursery in McHenry County.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Faith, his children Cheryl and John Jr., his adored granddaughter Ariana, and his siblings Arlene Schroeder (Jake) and Richard (Arnette) as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother Philip.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
