John David Walbaum

John David Walbaum , 84, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023 in Arizona. His beloved wife, Mary Ann Walbaum (Carefree, Arizona) at his side.

John was born March 5, 1939 in Elgin, Illinois. His parents, Herb and Esther Walbaum preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, and his loving sister, Mary Williams (Barrington, Illinois).

A graduate of Barrington High School, Walbaum is known to be an all-star athlete. He continued playing football in college at Northwestern University, as well as University of Arizona. He enjoyed a successful career in commercial real estate and development in Arizona.

Walbaum was a very loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Liza Richardson (Marina Del Rey, California), John Richardson (Denver, Colorado), Dana Walbaum Dorsey (Redondo Beach, California) and his grandchildren, Henri Richardson, Benjamin Richardson, Ryder Shannon Dorsey and Keller David Dorsey.

John is remembered for his sincerity, honesty and witty sense of humor. He enjoyed drawing and was a talented artist, intrinsic in detail. His love for animals is portrayed in his paintings.

Walbaum’s memorial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, Illinois on November 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements were made with Davenport Family Funeral Home in Barrington.
